Is Nutrition Really Important?
Is Nutrition Really Important? In light of recent films like 'What the Bleep Do We Know?' and a collective surge in awareness of Energy therapies and theories, the one question that clients repeatedly ask me in my coaching practice is, 'Is nutrition really that important?' My short answer is that, yes, it's all important. The Modality of the body is not any less or more important than any of the other Modalities. The longer answer is that when you take care of the physical, you send a message ...Read more »•
5 Reasons to Feel Safe Submitting an Electronic Medical Claim
/p> Electronic Medical Claim For years, both practices and patients have had to deal with submitting medical claims. Up until recently, claims were submitted manually, using HCFA 1500 forms. An electronic medical claim allows the submission process to take place online. The electronic medical claim is nothing new, but it is perhaps a somewhat unsettling idea to many practices and patients because of one question which continually surfaces in the minds of both parties: Is submitting an ...Read more »•
Garlic for Health
Garlic is a traditional tonic in many cultures. In my teens and twenties, I was very aware that one should not eat garlic or onions out of respect for other people (e.g., bosses or potential dates). However, garlic breath does not bother me nearly so much as the foul stenches caused by tobacco use, lazy dental care, lack of exercise, obesity, and / or poor bowel regularity. I now use a lot of garlic, bought as pre-peeled cloves or dried minced chunks. I frankly like the taste. For those who ...Read more »•
Medical Billing PDA
/p> Medical Billing PDA One of the first things I notice about a medical office, whether it be with my dentist, my family doctor, or my optometrist, is the walls full of color-coded files containing medical histories, billing information, and tracking information for prescriptions check ups and various other things. As a patient, it is fun to trace the colored tags across the files and wonder what they mean. Doctors know exactly what they mean, and they see those color-coded files in a totally ...Read more »•
Soy Foods for better health
Soyfoods aid longevity. Although a few authors dispute this, most literature found on the reputable internet sources show that traditional soyfoods, especially those with live cultures, correlate with reduced risks of various diseases without negative side effects. But the maximum benefit comes from using soy foods to replace a large fraction of the diet normally occupied by high sources of saturated fats. In other words, don't just add soymilk and soy shakes, soy based artificial cream ...Read more »•
The Skinny on Oats, Oatmeal, Vitamins Nutrition for Skin Care
Oats (botanical name Avena sativa) An oat is a grass that produces a fibrous root and a hollow jointed stem with narrow, flat, pale-green leaves. Oats are native to southern Europe and eastern Asia. They are widely cultivated as a food. An oat is an edible cereal grain produced by the cereal grass of the same name. They are light colored and have a nutty flavor and a chewy texture. Usually we think of them as breakfast food but oatmeal has long been known for its skin-soothing properties. Many ...Read more »•
Moderate exercise is necessary for good health.
At a minimum, walk a mile or more several times a week (or daily) and move the arms around to loosen up the joints. If you can't walk or ride a stationary bicycle, use a rowing machine, swim, or join wheel chair races. If you can do none of these things, you have my sympathy. I had a young colleague who suffered from polio in child- hood, so one leg was short and supported by a built-up shoe. One day, this person was absent from the office, because a lung had collapsed. He should at least ...Read more »•
